About this work
A stone bridge with five arches spans the Tiber, leading the eye toward the dome of St Peter's Basilica and the round bulk of Castel Sant'Angelo on the right bank. Bare tree branches frame the upper left corner, and a small moored boat sits at a jetty in the foreground.
