About this work
Across the top of the sheet, black silhouetted girders and cross-braced trusses of a bridge or crane read against a bright red ground, their forms jagged and interlocking. Below a hard horizontal break, the same red gives way to a band of dark, netted texture that fades into pale grey at the base of the composition.
The print layers a flat, saturated red with fine black mesh and torn lace-like textures, moving from a hot, graphic upper register to a muted, atmospheric lower one. The abrupt tonal shift and the mix of rigid structural silhouettes with soft frayed texture create an intense, unsettled mood.
