About this work
Five red apples, some whole and others cut into wedges or halves, are arranged across sheets of crumpled brown and white paper spread over a windowsill. A kitchen knife lies diagonally across the paper in the foreground, and a plate holding a few sliced pieces sits among the apples, with a pale curtain and window frame visible behind.
