About this work
A wooden house with a blue lower story and ochre gable stands behind a tall plank fence in a snow-filled yard. Bare trees hung with birdhouses rise on both sides, a small figure walks along the cleared path toward the gate, and outbuildings recede into the grey distance.
Deep cobalt blue and mustard yellow stand out against the muted greys of snow and bare branches, painted in firm, blocky strokes. The overcast light is even and soft, and the fenced yard reads as an intimate, closed-in corner of a quiet winter settlement.
