About this work
A broad, heavily worked black field fills the right half, pierced by a small teal-ringed dark circle. To its left, a small black silhouette of a standing figure appears against an orange-red patch, near a partly visible photograph of a face and fragments of text collage. The left side is built from bright green, coral-pink, and white brushstrokes with a torn patterned rectangle and scattered painted marks.
Thick black paint is scraped and layered over the surface, contrasting with the loose, bright strokes of pink, mint, and green elsewhere, with collage fragments of photographs and text embedded into the paint. The heavy black mass and rough texture pull the eye toward the somber right side, against the more open, energetic color on the left.
