About this work
A dark bronze statue of a standing figure in a long coat rises on a red granite pedestal at the left, set on a paved stone embankment with steps and an iron railing. Beyond it, a large ship with a black-and-gray hull is moored at the quay, with faint rooftops visible along the far shore.
Muted grays and soft terracotta dominate under an overcast, diffused sky, with only touches of green marking the oxidized bronze and stray weeds in the paving. Smooth, controlled brushwork renders the stone and metal with quiet precision, lending the harbor scene a calm, still atmosphere.
