About this work
A river curves past a row of ornate apartment buildings, the closest a pink corner building topped with a small dome and turret. Bare and just-budding trees line the near bank, and a green wrought-iron bridge railing crosses the foreground. A car and small figures are visible on the far embankment beneath the facades.
Soft pinks, ochres and pale blues describe the buildings under a hazy sky, applied in loose, dabbed strokes that blur architectural detail into atmosphere.
