About this work

One raised hand pinches a small object between finger and thumb, the other holds a round trinket, while the pale, mask-like face gazes calmly outward.
Jewel tones of teal, crimson, and gold are built up in flat mosaic-like patches over a mottled, textured ground, with fine linear patterning suggesting fabric and foliage.
