About this work
Two oval silver trays hold an assortment of fruit: whole and sliced lemons on one, a cluster of green grapes, two persimmons and dark purple plums on the other. Several loose plums lie scattered on the crumpled brown paper surrounding the trays, catching soft light from above.
The palette moves from bright lemon yellow through green grapes and orange persimmons to deep blue-violet plums, all set against warm neutral browns. Reflective silver surfaces are rendered with crisp highlights, while the paper's creased texture is built up in fine, controlled strokes. The overall handling is precise and photographically detailed, giving the arrangement a quiet, tactile realism.
