Fir forest

Tall fir trunks and overlapping dark green boughs fill the composition, framing a narrow clearing that opens onto a sunlit patch of grass and pale tree trunks in the distance. Wispy grasses and low undergrowth grow along the immediate foreground, while patches of blue sky show through gaps in the dense canopy above.

Thick, directional brushstrokes build the layered foliage in deep greens, olive and near-black shadow, with touches of yellow-green and blue where light breaks through.
