About this work
A deserted paved square at night centers on a low, rectangular concrete structure sunk into the ground, resembling an underpass or loading ramp. To its right stands a lit pedestrian-crossing sign on a pole; beyond, distant streetlamps glow as soft haloed orbs before dark and reddish-lit buildings.
Blacks and warm ochre-red tones for the buildings sit against cool grey pavement, each light rendered as a diffuse, glowing blur suggesting damp night air.
