About this work
A heavy wooden door stands open onto a narrow, dimly lit corridor lined with further closed doors receding into shadow. In the near corner a low stool holds a coiled dark wreath or ring-shaped object, and a sliver of daylight catches a small window far down the passage.
Warm browns and muted olive-greens dominate the interior, the corridor deepening from lit doorway to near-black shadow. Broad, confident brushwork models the worn wood and scuffed floor, and the single distant point of light draws the eye into the unseen space beyond, lending the scene a quiet, expectant mystery.
