DIGITAL ARCHIVE OF STUDENT WORKS — B. V. IOGANSON ART LYCEUM
The B. V. Ioganson Art Lyceum is one of the oldest art schools in St. Petersburg. Its history dates back to 1934 and reflects a long tradition of training young artists. Among its graduates are such prominent artists as Mikhail Anikushin, Ilya Glazunov, Mikhail Shemyakin, Ernst Neizvestny and many others.
AN ARCHIVE OF EARLY ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT
Student works from the Lyceum years document the earliest stages of an artist's development — from drawing, composition and painting to the formation of professional artistic thinking and an individual visual language.
Many works from this period remain in private archives or are no longer easily accessible. The Academart digital archive preserves this important material and makes it available to artists, researchers, educators, students and a wider audience.
FROM THE LYCEUM TO PROFESSIONAL ART
Where possible, student works are connected with individual artist profiles on Academart. This creates a visual record of an artist's development — from their earliest professional training at the Lyceum, through academic education, to independent artistic practice.
The archive therefore preserves not only individual student works, but the visual history of how an artist is formed.
